Bullying
At GC, we do not allow any form of bullying. This includes written, spoken, cyber and physical acts designed to cause mental, emotional, or actual harm to staff or students.
If you are bullied, or witness bullying while at GC, we advise you to speak to your Personal Tutor, or a member of Student Services.
You can also make a report by filling in the Anti-bullying Report Form and emailing it to antibullying@gloscol.ac.uk.
Your report will be investigated thoroughly and you will be offered the chance to talk things through.
It’s important to us that you enjoy your time at GC and that you feel safe and comfortable with us. No one deserves to be bullied, which is why we have a strong policy in place to stop it and look after our staff and students. We always take reports of bullying seriously.
What Happens To Bullies at GC?
When acts of bullying have been discovered, the Anti-Bullying Coordinator will decide on a suitable course of action. This may be time out, mediation, or restorative justice.
Restorative justice allows the bully and the person who was bullied to talk openly in a safe environment. The aim is to promote understanding on both sides and to give the bully a chance to realise the impact of their actions, and to apologise. You will not be left alone during restorative justice.
If a criminal offence has occurred then the police will be told, along with the student’s parents or carers.
